Lead Designer for the renovation of this 54,000 square-foot terminal building at Yokota Air Base in Fussa, Japan.  The main challenge for the design was to maintain the existing building shell and footprint, while re-configuring the interior spaces to provide for more efficient  use of the existing building areas while providing a much better level of passenger service.  The project included new finishes inside and out, new windows and doors to meet current blast-resistance requirements, and structural upgrades to meet current seismic design standards.
